The distinct chemical compounds and health benefits between different grades of YCGT have not been reported yet.The current study employed untargeted and targeted metabolomic approaches to analyze grade-related characteristic metabolites, and used high-fat diet (HFD) induced obese mice to evaluate antiobesity effects among four grades of Yuexi Commercial Convection Ovens Cuilan green tea (YCGT).Based on chemical profiles and quantitative analysis, second premium grade (SP) exhibited a high similarity with first grade (FG), and proposed to be merged into FG.A total of 41 differentiated metabolites were screened and identified among four grades of YCGT.

There were 18 chemical markers closely correlated with grades, mainly phenolic acids and carbohydrates.In addition, dietary supplementation of YCGT significantly decreased body weight and Self Defense fat mass in HFD fed C57BL/6J mice, and the antiobesity effects were more profound for the FP grade than that of other lower grades.
